Bad Dragon Nocturne Dildo Review

Not all dildos are built to be equal. Gone are the days of boring cylinders and standard dick-shaped same ol’ same ol’. Bad Dragon exists to ensure that the tables stay turned, and the Nocturne is no exception.

This offering from Bad Dragon comes with plenty of customization options, from sizes to colors and beyond. The Nocturne comes equipped with a bulging shaft style, secondary knot, and even ribbed spikes to ensure pleasure. They are made from phthalate-free, extremely high-quality silicone that is non-porous and built to last.

The Bad Dragon Nocturne was voted AltPorn’s Best Novelty Toy in 2016, and it’s no wonder why! In this review, I will go into some of the customization options, my personal experiences with the toy, and a helpful summary.

CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS OF THE NOCTURNE

Bad Dragon has the market for customizable sex toys cornered. The Nocturne follows true to this, with the below customizations available.

• COLORS: The Nocturne has fifteen preset color options available. These range from Nocturne Signature (purple highlights over glow in the dark green) to Galaxy Black (onyx with silver sparkles) and beyond. Additionally, users can choose a surprise color, or select their own from a massive palette of solid colors, which can be split amongst the shaft and base. The options are endless.
• SIZES: The Nocturne has five sizes, ranging from Mini to Extra Large. They have a handy real-size comparison tool to assist in ensuring the proper size is purchased. For reference, the head circumference varies from 3.6” to 7”, shaft circumference from 4.25”to 8.25”, and usable length from 5” to almost 10”. • FIRMNESS: For the Bad Dragon Nocturne, there are five options for firmness: Soft, medium and firm, as well as soft shaft/firm base, and medium shaft/firm base. It is recommended to consult the Firmness Guide on the Bad Dragon website or order a Sample Set to determine for yourself.
• CUM LUBE: If you’re adventurous and want a little fluid in the mix, you can always add a cum tube. This hollows out a small tube in the center of the Nocturne and allows for the addition of sticky (fake) cum that will ejaculate wherever and whenever instructed. Highly recommended to amp up the experience!
• SUCTION CUP: While this doesn’t sound as exciting as a cum tube, a suction cup can provide some serious enhancements to standard Bad Dragon pleasure. MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE NOCTURNE: FIRST THOUGHTS

My customized options for the Bad Dragon Nocturne were as follows:

• Ectoplasm color (a type of glow-in-the-dark green hue)
• Small size (I’m no newbie, but I’m not as risky as some)
• Medium firmness

I also opted to add a cum tube, to try and mimic the realism as much as possible. I did not opt for the suction cup, but from some of my female friends, I have heard wonders about its additional capabilities. From one:

The Nocturne shipped incredibly fast and arrived in discreet packaging. I immediately unwrapped, gave it a rinse, and disrobed for its maiden spelunking voyage. I noticed quickly that the medium level of firmness is a bit softer than competitors’ medium, but this only added to the enjoyment.

Be warned: The silicone that Bad Dragon uses is a haven for dust particles. Additionally, without added lube, it can be “sticky”. However, once some water-based lube is added (or a squirt from the cum tube) the Nocturne becomes very slick, with an unmatched glide through even the most stubborn of holes.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE NOCTURNE: UPON USE

Upon insertion, I immediately started to realize why the Nocturne is a true award winner. The ridges and bumps, in combination with the coronal ridge and tapered head, brought strong stimulation when popped in.

I am used to standard plugs and nondescript toys inserted anally. This was another experience altogether. I was initially unsure how the shaft’s nodules would change my perception, however they were surely quite noticeable when used. They provided some intense massaging feelings that were unmistakably pleasurable.

A male acquaintance has a similar toy to the Nocturne but in firm. They have tried the medium as well, and informed me that the intensity of the textures increase as firmness increases. For my needs, though, medium was the perfect option. Soft and supple, but stiff where it counts. The slight curve was a bonus as well, as it provided a bit of a prostate massage while in process.

Now, I was not able to insert all the way to the knot of the Nocturne. I’m not quite ready for that level of insertion. However, partially inserting the knot works to provide further sensations of pressure and girth, increasing pleasure without worrying about “going too deep”. As for the cum tube, well, let’s just say that a mess was made.

Compared to past experiences with alternative-shaped sex toys, the Bad Dragon Nocturne is a whole new level of pleasure.
